Great Solo's - For Our Percussionist's Out There

Now this week i have moved away from the guitar towards the louder more annoying, harder to tune instrument of the Drums.
Now drum solos come in all different shapes and forms and the one i have chosen here is pretty awesome because he was one of the best drummers going around in one of the most awesome bands ever.

This is a very long drum solo so take a while out of your day and enjoy

Great Solo's

Now everyone im going to start a section where on a friday i will post a video of a great guitar solo picked by myself or if anyone wishes to send me and email i will look into getting a good quality video up and we can al see the art of guitar.

Now for the first week, im going to set the bar probably far too high to be matched again in my opinion but then this section is called great solo's not good solos.

This solo is the solo that makes people insane and many say this version was the best version of the solo ever played as the context of the concert.
This is of course the Comfortably Numb solo in the concert Pulse

Enjoy!!!

Ps: They dont have to be guitar solos as any instrument is able to be shown

English Class

Now over this year, Mrs Garbutt has mentioned the rainbow warrior and how New Zealand rejected having nuclear waste dumped on the land and even went to the point of refusing entry of nuclear ships (warships, submarines from the USA) to enter our waters and harbours.

This angered the US quite a lot and escalated to quite a point where the US thought that NZ were sleeping with the enemy (communists and terrorists) and nearly went to war over it.

David Lange the PM at the time had a huge view on this saying no your not allowed to bring your nuclear waste here and he made numerous famous speeches about this topic.

And tiki tanne a NZ artist has used some of these extracts of his speeches to show his gratitude in his "Dub" music. I Think its a good way to know what happened, so next time Mrs Garbutt talks about it we can say yes we know too.

Plus it talks about (totalatarism)sp which could also be helpful with the handmaids tale :D

Koonyum Sun

Xavier Rudd's new album "KoonyumSun" was released on the 23rd of this month and over the past 2 days or so i have been listening to it.

Like all of Xavier Rudd's albums the lyrics are full of aboriginal rights, protecting the environment, fair rights to everyone and basically nice stuff being a nice guy he is.

Unlike all of his other albums he has joined up with the group Izintaba a South African group i believe consisting of a bass player and percussionist. This brings a whole new level and direction with the digideroo mixing with the African drums and backing vocals. The bass player really drives the band through most of the songs which also makes it sound awesome.

Overall another one of his amazing albums like they all are, with a great message and i would recommend a listen by everyone, if it is just at least once, to see the amazing talent that is brought up in our backyard and how only a few men can stand up for whats right and get a huge following.

Cant Wait for the tour to get back to Perth after the US!!!!!!
